Dance Recital 2012

I don't have all the pictures ready yet, but couldn't resist posting the video! Olivia comes out on the right side of the stage, second little girl. It's long, but cute. :)

Easter!

We headed to the Tri-Cities last Friday for Easter. Dad and Tammie have had an Easter party for the past few years on the Saturday before Easter and this was the first time we were in town for it! Olivia was very excited.
Hanging out with her cousins:

It quickly warmed up and the games started!

There were lots of prizes:

After a few games, the kiddos sat inside while a "surprise" was set up outside:

What was the surprise?

Baby chicks! The kids were thrilled:

Poor Aubrey wasn't feeling too well, but still managed a smile:

Luckily, this chick didn't poop on Pappy. Not everyone was so lucky!

The chicks were getting cold, so we moved on to the egg hunt. She did so much better this year:

There were even games for the "big" kids (aka, over the age of 20). We had a great time! Olivia was EXHAUSTED, so Michael and I managed a quick bike ride AND a movie, while she hung out with Papaw David. Love having babysitters!

Sunday, she woke up to her Easter basket. Thank goodness the Easter Bunny found her at Mamaw and Papaw's house:

Mamaw had boiled 5 dozen or so eggs for all the grandkids to dye. Olivia was thrilled:

We also got to eat Easter dinner at Lilo's house, with another egg hunt:

I love this next picture. Egg hunting is serious business:

I know I've said it before, but we are really grateful to be close enough to visit on all the holidays!

Olivia's new favorite thing to do at home. We finally started making her wear a helmet!

April Happenings

Olivia is on Spring Break this week, so her Easter party was last Thursday. I stopped by between clients and got some pictures of the egg hunt. She did much better this year!

She did so well, she had to "share" some eggs with her friends. Check out her overflowing basket in this video:

I'm glad she had some practice, since we are headed home for Easter and there are many more egg hunts in her future!

We had a slight scare when the cyst over her eye doubled in size in about 30 minutes last weekend. We called the on-call doctor and he thought it was infected. He prescribed some antibiotics and scheduled an appointment for yesterday to make sure she could have surgery today (she did!). After her appointment, we met one of her friends from ballet at the Creative Discovery Museum. I went ahead and got a membership, since she loves it so much!

There is a whole exhibit about China right now, including some dress up clothes:

She had a blast! We also went fishing last weekend, where she (with Daddy's help) caught her first fish. She was fine as long as we threw it back in the water!

She did end up having surgery today and it wasn't as traumatic as we thought. It helped that she was in a good mood:

They gave her some medicine to calm her down and help with separation anxiety. I felt bad taking a video, but she was being so funny:

That was one of the nurses tickling her. We were in her room waiting about 45 minutes before the surgeon came out to tell us she did great! He gave us some instructions, then we headed to recovery to wait for her to wake up:

She was groggy, but perked up when a nurse offered her a Popsicle:

They watched her about 30 more minutes, then we headed home! The tape is supposed to stay on for 5-7 days, but she is already messing with it. We've given her Tylenol every 4 hours since surgery and she has yet to complain about pain. She can return to normal activities tomorrow and has a post-op appointment in 3 weeks. So glad that's over!

One more video that really shows her personality right now. She had been asking for days to eat at a "pancake place." There's a shortage of IHOP's in Dayton, so she settled for Huddle House. Here she is dancing to the music:

Silly girl!
