End of School Fun

Olivia came home from school this week with a Citizen of the Month certificate.  Each grade chooses one person each month to be Citizen of the Month and they are announced over the intercom during morning announcements.  She was SO proud.  She had been nominated earlier in the year.  There was an art show this week, so we got to check out her art work and see her Citizen of the Month questionnaire:

Her art teacher is amazing.  She actually won Teacher of the Year for the entire district and she's been featured in a Nashville Art magazine.  Some pictures from the art show (Daddy was traveling for work, boo):

And just like that, 1st grade is over!  We had an uncharacteristically cold morning:

We are so proud of her.  She was behind at the beginning of the year, but caught up very quickly.  Her last reading assessment placed her at a 3.5 (third grade, fifth month), but her teacher thinks that was a little high and suggested books on a 2.5 - 2.9 reading level for the summer.  We're happy with either- she has really blossomed this year and LOVED school.  She was pretty sad it was over, but cheered up when I reminded her we leave for the beach in two day!  Yay!

May days

The end of school is quickly approaching, with all the festivities.  Paige and I "chaperoned" a zoo field trip with the whole first grade.  So fun!

Hanging out with the kangaroos:

Fun!  Olivia also had her gymnastics banquet.  Her sweet Level 2 team:

There was a DJ and Paige was right in the middle of the dancing:

The whole team (well most of them)!

Looking forward to next season!
