We've celebrated Halloween for 3 days now! I think Olivia was getting a little tired of it by tonight. We were halfway around the block and she started saying, "I go to my house now!" Ha!
We started our festivities at the daycare Friday with a little party. I made these witches out of pudding cups- the kids seemed to really like them!
She didn't leave her costume on too long, but that was OK with me! She usually gets pretty messy at Ms. Lindsay's house!
On Saturday, she got to wear her costume to gymnastics, but I forgot the camera. Pretty funny to see a little bee jumping on the trampoline! Then we headed to a birthday party at Little Monkey Bizness (an indoor playground). She had a blast! One of the local outdoor malls had a Trick or Treat Street that night, so we headed over there. Busy, busy!
She loved saying "Chick or cheet" and getting lots of candy! This year was lots of fun:
This was towards the end of the night:
She loved looking at all her candy when we got home!
A short video- sorry it's so dark!

Times, they are a changing...
I am almost scared to type this, BUT we are on day 3 of no accidents, potty-wise. She hasn't had a diaper on since Sunday (except at night!). Dare I say we are completely potty trained?! I am pretty excited, because I expected it to be much harder, but she's doing great! Fingers crossed!
We have also moved her into her bedroom in a "big girl bed." Granted, one of us has to lay down beside her until she falls asleep, but this is a huge step! If she wakes up (usually once a night), Michael or I go and lay down with her until she falls asleep again (we normally fall asleep, too!). I tried to get rid of her pacifier, but it was too much at once! I cut it down to only at nap time and bedtime (sometimes in the car), which is better than nothing!
Last Sunday we drove to Longmont (45 minutes north) to Sunflower Farms. I found their website while searching for a place with a petting zoo. It was AWESOME! There were sheep, a llama, baby goats, miniature horses, cows, and pigs. Olivia was in heaven! She didn't quite understand how to hold her hand flat to let them eat the corn, so she would hold 1 piece at a time between 2 fingers.
She wasn't too sure about the turkey:
There were also bales of hay set up in tunnels, a horse and buggy ride, huge tree houses connected by bridges, sand boxes, a merry go round, and swings galore. I'm seriously considering going back sometime next week! She had soooo much fun:
My friend, Julie, made her pumpkin shirt. Isn't it adorable?!
Swinging is still her favorite:
How's this for a tree swing?! This tree was HUGE:
Pretty view of the mountains:
She (naturally) found something to hang on:
We parked behind some apple trees and she spied them on our way out. She kept telling us she wanted an apple while we were getting in the car. Michael snagged one, thinking it would be too sour for her. Nope, she ate the entire thing!
We had such a great time!
She has also been tattling recently, mainly on her little friends at daycare. However, when we're at home she can only tattle on me or Daddy, UNTIL she realized she could tattle on the dogs.
Example A (she's tattling on Rambler for peeing in the grass):
Example B, tattling on poor Rambler again (for "hitting" her on her arm and knees):
She is so funny!

Family Fun!
We love having visitors, especially Olivia. Especially when it's grandparents that spoil you rotten! Michael's parents and grandmother flew in last Thursday for the weekend. We had some fun stuff planned and like most times when I plan things, not all of it turned out that well! We had fun anyway!
We stayed home Thursday night and let them rest from their flight. We got up Friday and headed downtown. We wanted to tour the Mint, but the tours were full. Michael and I had never toured the capitol building, so we headed there. Naturally, the historical tour wasn't available that day, but we did get to climb the stairs to the top of the dome (well, Granny Stills stayed down!). It was neat:
Pretty views at the top:
Olivia had a fit when she realized we couldn't go OUT the windows:
But, calmed down when Daddy let her stand on a table:
Taking a rest:
We left the Capitol and headed to the Denver Botanic Gardens. It was very high on the to-do list for Daddy and Papaw (ha!). The gardens were beautiful, but I (naturally) have tons of pictures of Olivia and not so many of the actual gardens!
About the only way we can get her to walk:
It was starting to rain, so we headed home. Michael and I got to go out by ourselves that night (yay for babysitters!).
Mamaw went with us to gymnastics Saturday morning and then we came home and blew bubbles for awhile:
Granny Stills oversaw the bubble blowing:
Then we headed to Georgetown! Georgetown is a small town in the mountains that has a restored train track. When Michael's parents were here 2 years ago, we went on a train ride in Canon City (2 hours south) and loved it. I was expecting close to the same thing, but it was much different! First off, the trains weren't enclosed. Now, normally that wouldn't be a problem, except it's OCTOBER in COLORADO and we were in the MOUNTAINS. Really, Michael and I should have known better. It was 70 degrees at our house and we all took light jackets, thinking we would be OK. When we got to Georgetown it was snowing. We bought out the gift shop! Lack of planning on our part= 3 matching hats (HATS of all things. Do you have any idea how many hats we have?! Sheesh):
Note the UNenclosed train cars (we sat in the car that had a roof, but there isn't glass in those windows!):
Now, once we got going (and were snuggled up close for warmth!), it wasn't that bad. Then the train stopped and let us off at the "pumpkin patch," which turned out to be waist high bales of hay set up in a simple maze at the bottom of a steep, gravel covered hill. There were pumpkins on top of the hay, NOT in a patch. Ha! You can kind of see it in these pictures:
Olivia did get her face painted for the first time. She did great!
We were there about 15 minutes and were ready to head out, so we asked how long it would be before the train returned. An hour and twenty minutes! There were 2 trains running and the first one that came through was full, so we couldn't fit. Here it is chugging by:
We walked back up the hill to the covered waiting area and well, waited. Olivia loved the train, so it was worth the cold (I think!).
At least she got a good nap!
Sunday, we laid low. The girls went to a local craft fair and the boys stayed home and worked in the garage! Olivia got in lots of play time. She loves this zebra- she's been tilting her head like this since we got it, not sure why!
We had a blast! Come back soon!

Sentences
It's amazing how much Olivia is talking. She's been "talking" for quite awhile, but we can actually carry on a conversation with her now. It's awesome! Her personality is hilarious. A few conversations we've had recently:
Me: "Bath time for little girls!"
Olivia: "I a big girl."
Olivia: "BECKY, BECKY, BECKY, BECKY!"
Me: "Olivia..."
Olivia: "Not Becky, Mommy."
Me: "Yep."
Me: "Olivia, do you have a dirty diaper?" (we are "pausing" potty training for the moment)
Olivia: "No, baby Beckham poopy." (Beckham is Tyler and Sarah's adorable 2 month old).
And the sentence we hear at least 50 times a day: "I DO IT!"
I took this video a few weeks ago. I wish I could figure out what she's saying to the dog- whatever it is, it's with lots of emotion!
Avry has a brand new baby brother. I picked her up a few days ago for a play date with Olivia and we went to the pool at the rec center. The best part about school being in session? The indoor pool was completely empty! They had a blast!
She's also apparently figured out how to work the camera, because I found this when I uploaded the other videos:
