Roxborough State Park

I really wanted to get some pictures of Olivia with the wildflowers that Colorado is famous for. Unfortunately, the "best" wildflowers (according to the locals) are in Crested Butted or Ouray, which are 4-5 hours from our house. Considering the Mount Evans debacle, I thought we should look for wildflowers closer to home!

Roxborough State Park is only 10ish minutes south of Highlands Ranch. I read about a few trails that were known for wildflowers, so we set off.

Side note: anyone that knows anything about taking pictures, knows that the middle of the day is the worst time for pictures. Sunset is the best, with early morning a close second. The middle of the day casts shadows, meaning you sometimes have to use your flash, which can lead to overexposure. I know all of this, but still decided to go in the middle of the day. Why? The middle of the day is the time you are least likely to see snakes. Considering the amount of rattlesnake warning signs in the park, I decided a few overexposed pictures were better than nothing! No way would I go any other time!

Not too many wildflowers, but the red rocks were beautiful!

Of course, I had to mess with a few in LightRoom!

Olivia and I got back today after a quick trip to visit Michael. It's hard living in a hotel room! He's been working pretty hard the past few weeks.
We also made it to Aiden's 2nd birthday party, which was great! Imagine, we can actually make it to birthday parties and holidays now. Awesome!
