July 4th

One of the many things we like about living in Franklin are the many festivals that are held downtown.  It does get crazy crowded, but we are able to walk downtown and avoid the traffic.

Olivia was really excited about a 4th of July parade for kids; one where they decorate their bikes, wagons, etc. and get to be in their own parade.  We worked on her bike the night before and she was SO proud:

I was going to let Paige walk with us, but she fell asleep.  And the weather was not looking great- in fact it came a complete downpour halfway through the kids parade and everyone made a mad dash for cover.

Mamaw was watching and had a bench saved that was somewhat covered:

Unfortunately, the rain did not let up.  Nashville had been advertising a huge fireworks display that we didn't want to miss.  So, we dug out all our rain gear and headed to downtown Nashville!

The atmosphere was fun, but it was really hard to see the fireworks.  The Franklin fireworks were postponed, so we were able to watch them the next night.  It was still a great Fourth!
