Getting over the sniffles.
Luckily, Olivia is feeling much better (and the rash is gone!). However, she did pass her cold along to Mommy. I'm feeling better, but now Michael is under the weather.
Good news! Olivia let me leave her in the nursery at the gym! I managed a 45 minute workout. I think the key is taking her when she's really sleepy and making sure the woman with blonde hair is working. :) Apparently, she sat in her carseat and watched the other kids playing. She DID NOT sleep, even though she was exhausted, so when we got home she napped for almost 2 hours.
Some recent pics (in a new diaper!):

I've been crocheting for a few years, but this is my first knit creation. I taught myself to knit using www.knittinghelp.com. I found a free pattern online and started this 3 weeks ago. Some of Olivia's cloth diapers need a cover and wool is great for it. These are still really big for her- I was afraid to try and adjust the pattern! She'll grow into them.... eventually.
Maybe next week will be more interesting...

Guess who's...
Sitting up?
OK, she's still a little wobbly:
But a definite improvement!
We haven't had a very exciting week. Olivia is still battling a cold. I took her back to the doctor yesterday, because she still has a rash on her torso. He said her viral infection is lingering and so is the rash. So, we wait. Hopefully it will be gone soon. One good thing about not feeling well- more naps!
Here's her guilty look:
Why does she look guilty? Because she had just knocked over a glass of water and soaked all our mail and the checkbook. I should probably be the one with a guilty look for leaving it within her reach!
I'm trying to tame her hair into a side part instead of hanging down her forehead and she already hates having me mess with it- not a good sign!
I found more cute socks!
This was a short, random post, but once again- nothing too exciting going on around here! We're ready for spring!

Olivia says...
How cute are these pants?! Thanks, Megan!
Olivia got lots of Valentine's in the mail! Thanks!
We had an eventful Valentine's day- a trip to the After Hours Pediatric Care! She broke out in a rash last weekend and I did really good (as in not getting too concerned!). I called her doctor Monday morning and his Physician's Assistant said it sounded like an allergic reaction and to wait it out. OK, no problem. Tuesday, she got a runny nose. Wednesday, she started coughing. Friday, she started pulling her ear, and today she was running a fever and still had the rash. So, we packed it up and headed to the doctor! He was concerned she had strep at first, because of the rash, but it was negative. Just a viral infection. That was our excitement for the day. She's actually been in a really good mood to have a fever! She's started this high pitched squealing that's really funny. I haven't been able to catch it on video, but I'm trying!
Anyone that's seen or spoken to us recently know that we've been working on getting her to hold her pacifier in her mouth by herself. She loves her paci, but only ONE kind (the hospital issued, naturally) and she cannot keep it in- we have to "help" her. Well, she still can't hold it in, but she helps herself, now! We put it in her hand and she puts it in her mouth.
Sometimes, she can't get it in the right way, but she doesn't seem to mind:
Michael and I have been really curious if her eyes are going to change colors. Most of my baby books say they can change up until 2 years of age, but the majority change by 6 months. I have greenish/brownish eyes and he has blue. She had really dark blue eyes when she was born. This is the best picture I could find that kind of shows her eyes- she's 6 weeks in this pic:
Not the best, but trust me, they were dark blue. This is what they look like now:
They've lightened a little, but still blue. What do you think? Will she be blue eyed? :)
One more, because I like it (even though it's fuzzy):
Funny for the day. Someone e-mailed me this picture. I think it's hilarious! I especially like the sand around his mouth. This makes me really want to take Olivia to the beach this summer!
Hope you had a FABULOUS Valentine's day!

Half Birthday
6 months, wow! Hard to believe Olivia's been here that long.
She had her 6 month check-up Friday. 12 pounds, 4 ounces and 25 inches long. She was in the 25% for height and less than 3% for weight. Not sure if that's actual or adjusted age, though. She's small even for her adjusted age, but healthy! :) She got one shot and the doctor recommended waiting 5 more weeks before starting solids (so she will be 6 months adjusted). I'm glad, it gives me more time to make food!
Waiting for her shot- she's thrilled (and sleepy).
I think she may be getting a tooth. At least I hope that's the problem. She's been really clingy lately. We can keep her calm and make her smile and laugh, as long as one of us is holding her. Unfortunately, she's not sleeping well again. She's waking 5-7 times a night, sometimes just crying out in her sleep, but loud enough to wake herself up. Not sure what's going on, but Michael and I are exhausted. It's not so bad on the weekends, but today was rough! Her doctor said he would expect a 12 pound baby to wake 1-2 times a night for a feeding, but he's not sure about the rest. I checked out some books, so we'll see if that helps!
She likes having her clothes off, too:
And just because they turned out so cute, a few of my favorites from her session with Rebecca Marr Photography:
Have a good day! Olivia, Avry and I are off to the library for their baby class!

On the road again...
Olivia and I just got back from a quick (and I mean QUICK!) weekend in TN. Plane tickets into the Tri-cities airport have been outrageous, so when I saw a good price about 2 weeks ago, I jumped on it. We flew in Thursday afternoon and left Sunday afternoon. She did pretty well on the flights. We had a layover in Atlanta, but just barely made our connection, so it wasn't bad. She was really happy on the flight- squealing happy. I guess that's better than crying! It was nice to fly into Tri-cities and miss the 2 hour drive from Knoxville!
I wasn't my usual picture happy self this trip. Most of my pictures are of Olivia and her cousins. Do you think she likes them? :)
Luckily, I think the feeling is mutual:
We were really only there 2 days, so it was hard to cram visits in with everyone that wanted to see us (her). I'm much more popular with a baby! Olivia was a little picky about who she would let hold her. I hope it was more being out of her element than being completely and utterly attached to mommy, but we'll see.
She really liked Megan! Eli was too busy for a picture.
We did manage to get all 3 of the girls in for pictures and I had Olivia's 6 month pictures made, too. I'll post the link when they're up- I think they're going to turn out really well! So, that's the reason I've been behind in posting! Sorry to everyone we didn't see and sorry for the short visit to everyone we did see! Thanks again Brett and Rachel for letting us invade your home and for being such great hosts (much better than we were in CO, I'm sure!). Here are a few more pics from this weekend:
It was cold in TN, too! She's finally letting me put hats on her.
Maggie covered Olivia up when she fell asleep on the couch- all the way to her forehead! Watching a Barbie movie:
Maggie in her old car seat that we borrowed!
Aubrey was soooo sweet to Olivia. She especially liked retrieving her pacifier for her!
See what I mean about only having pictures of the kids? They're just too cute to resist!
More later when we've completely recovered from our trip!
