Finished projects and Sparkly shoes

We woke up to this last weekend:

March is normally the snowiest month in Colorado and it's living up to it's name. Luckily, it will snow one day and be 60 degrees the next, so it doesn't stay around long! Michael is usually happy to use his snow blower.
Since it snowed, we decided to put in a new sink. We had a white porcelain looking sink:

That's a really good picture. It was really hard to keep clean and paint was peeling off the bottom.
Here's during:

Olivia helped by wrapping herself in Teflon tape:

The hardest part was moving the garbage disposal, but Michael finally figured it out and here's the new sink:

Nice!

He also finished the toy storage for the playroom:

We got Olivia a little table:

She really likes (coloring on) it!

We went to the mall today to get some sandals. She won't be wearing sandals for a few weeks, but I had a coupon. She's never shown much interest in clothes or shoes, but as soon as I got her out of the stroller to get her foot measured, she made a beeline to a pair of sparkly shoes. Sparkly as in covered in sequins. She managed to get her shoe and sock off and was trying to get her foot in the sample. Silly girl. Needless to say, we left with a pair of sandals AND the sparkly shoes- on her feet.

Miss Independent wanted nothing to do with the stroller. She wanted to show off her new shoes. Every mirror and store front window we passed, she would admire her shoes and say, "Oh, cute," except it sounds like "ah, coot!" I say everything is "cute" all the time, so I guess she picked it up. She made lots of new friends at the mall (and it took us almost an hour to walk from one end to the other, what with all her admiring and admirers!)
I have a feeling we'll be seeing alot of these shoes:

She even carried them around with her when she took off the rest of her clothes:

Yes, that's a potty chair. No, she's not ready. We thought we would give it a try. She thinks it's a new toy. It has a sensor in the bottom that plays a song when you "go." However, she figured out that if she puts her foot in the bottom and covers the sensor, it will sing:

I think I'm going to put it up for a couple of months, so it will be "new" when she's ready.
She follows me everywhere around the house. I was cleaning the bathroom today, when I turned around and saw this:

Her gymnastics teacher was really impressed with her hanging skills. Guess she's practicing!

Happy (belated) St. Patrick's Day!

We enjoyed 70 degree weather for St. Patrick's Day yesterday! It was wonderful. We've had a couple of days warm enough to play outside without heavy coats. Olivia loves to be outside. Michael's birthday was Sunday (the 14th) and we had big plans to go downtown, but it snowed. That's just the way the weather works out here!
Some pictures from the park yesterday. The swings are by far her favorite:

Photobucket

I took her a snack and she wouldn't let go of it for anything! She swung with it, climbed with it, everything. Silly girl.

I had to pry her away. I let her walk by herself beside the wagon and she thought she was hot stuff, until she got tired and gratefully collapsed into her seat. :)

We got home and she enjoyed a favorite past-time of throwing potting soil out of my flower pots:

You might notice she's wearing a hat in every picture. I finished that little spring hat a couple of days ago and she loves it. The first hat she's kept on by herself!

A video of her swinging a few days ago:

And of a daily occurrence:

I was making Michael a birthday cake Saturday while she was playing in her playroom. I could hear her talking to herself, but I wasn't prepared for what I saw when she came around the corner pushing her stroller:

Clothes off (she's recently decided naked is the way to go), necklace on, and a sucker. Classic childhood, right?!

Have a good week!

A Quick Prayer

If you have a minute, please say a prayer for my friend Tina and her husband, Matt. Tina is a friend of mine from college. She had a baby boy, Nathan, the first week of February. He was immediately flown to Vanderbilt for heart surgery. He remained in the NICU at Vanderbilt and had good and bad days. Tuesday was an especially hard day for him and his little body gave out in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 10th. Tina and Matt are wonderful, sweet, people and my heart is breaking for them. Please keep them in your prayers during this difficult time.

2.4 million and roseola

If you haven't heard, our friend Christian (he works with Michael) won the Colorado lottery. He won 6.7 million, took the lump sum (cut it in half) and after taxes, he ended up with 2.4 million. We're guessing he's going to quit soon. :) We're really happy for him (and a bit jealous!). We're practicing a new phrase with Olivia: "Uncle Christian," ha!

I mentioned in the last post that Olivia had a fever. The fever continued off and on through Wednesday with no other symptoms. I blamed it on teething. We went to the park with Avry and Kacy (Avry's mom) Thursday morning and when we got home, I found this:

She was COVERED in little red bumps. I pretty much lost it and drove her straight to the pediatrician. By the time we got there, they had spread to her face, arms, and legs. Despite my hysteria, the doctor took one look at her and said "Roseola!" Roseola is a pretty common childhood virus. Many children get roseola without the rash, so you never really know if they've had it or not. Olivia was one of the lucky ones that got the rash! Luckily, the rash is the "beginning of the end." She's not contagious, but I didn't want to take her anywhere with the rash. She got a little bored in the house, but found some things to keep her entertained. Like playing with the pots and pans:

Pulling all her diapers out of the basket and trying to stand on her head:

And washing Daddy's face:

We did go to the park today, so she's feeling much better!

Michael got a new saw and Olivia helped him get it set up (it's in the garage now!):

The weather was nicer this week and I took Avry and Olivia to the park:

So glad they can both still fit in one swing!

Some new items for my Etsy shop:

I made the daisy clips to match this shirt:

Love it!
